Two fairs in one day?!?

So as well as filming our first two videos on Sunday (Lu Lin tea review coming soon!), we also went to a couple of fairs.

Both are fairs that we have visited before, and it's always nice to see some of the regular stalls that attend, and it's great to see some new faces too! The first fair we visited was the From Yorkshire with Love fair, hosted by Now and Then Events.  This fair focuses independently run businesses in the York area, and promotes the hidden talents in Yorkshire. There fair will be your cup of tea if you're into cute crafty jewellery, homeware and gifts, and baked goods! And there are some great workshops you can take part in, check out the pictures below:

There were some lovely stalls and Lucie decided to treat herself to this print of the ruins of St. Mary's Abbey:

We also visited The York Vintage Fair, which will be much more up your street if you're seriously into your vintage clothes. You best have your rummaging head on, because there's lots to look through! Unfortunately we were unable to get some pictures, due to the venue being very busy, and not being able to get a good view of all the action! However, we do have a picture of their lovely flyer!

Coming up this weekend is the York Does Vintage fair, which you can find in the Merchant Adventurers Hall on Sunday! If you're in York it's definitely worth a visit.

Do you have a favourite vintage fair? Leave us a comment or Tweet us @lucykristina or @lucieclark!

OOTD Day at the Races (with cake!)

Good Evening!

Did any of you just watch Felix Baumgartner jump from the edge of space?? Amazing to watch something so breathtaking.

So, as I mentioned on my Facebook, I have been to the races this weekend. We were so lucky with the weather, not so lucky with the horses, I didn't win a penny :( We still had a great time though!

Anyway, I thought I would share my OOTD with you:

Fascinator: Ebay (£6.99 bargain!!!)
Fur Coat- Vintage
Belt- Primark
Cardigan- New Look
Dress- Michael Kors (£40 down from £250 Bargain!!!!!)
Shoes- L K Bennett

So yeah, we had a fab day! I also want to show you the ace cake and buns Rosie and Sam made for me:

So I don't know if I have mentioned before that I am a huge fan of Simon's Cat or not, but I am :) And Rosie and Sam made this wonderful marble rainbow cake for me! It tastes delicious and looks fab! As an added surprise...

50 SHADES OF GREY CUPCAKES!!!! Personally I think these are amazing! I was not expecting these at all but I think they are fab. I loved the books and, although they were admittedly poorly written, I was still hooked in to the craze. I happen to think other books in this genre are better, such as Sylvia Day's "Bared to You" but that's beside the point. These cupcakes are amazing! The lips are my favourite!

So if you want to see more by my extremely talented sister please visit their new Facebook Page. They are now making cakes and other baked goods to order, so please go and check them out!

So that's it for today. Had a lovely pyjama day after a hectic day yesterday. So time for some Sunday night TV and an early night for me!

Until next time... :)

A few life updates and adventures

Good Afternoon, I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday :)

So I thought I would share some little updates and things I have been doing, with you, now everything has calmed down a bit.

Well I mentioned in summer that I have a new job in a department store. Since then I have moved into the stock room to manage deliveries and I am quite enjoying it. It can be stressful, and it doesn't sound very glamourous, but I have a lot of responsibility, and I am always the first to see the new clothes entering the store, which is exciting :)

However, as much as I like this job I am also undertaking some work experience at a graphics company, which I am LOVING. I am going to write a post about how all this happened shortly, it's going to be a bit of a life lesson post, so if that interests you, keep your eyes peeled.

I will start with the sad news that I have lost my little rattie, Ollie. I am not sure if I have mentioned this before, but 1st September he lost his fight with the breathing troubles he has always had. I am pretty sad about it all, but Stan is now one little spoilt guy, here he is with his new favourite treat:

So aside from getting used to the routine that work forces you into, I have been working on a couple of personal projects and adventures, the first of which was the surprise party for my mum and dads 25th wedding anniversary, (I mentioned it a couple of posts back). This party was a month and a half in the planning, and was one of the most stressful things I have ever done, but was so totally worth it. Here's a snap of the party as everyone was arriving. The decorations and food etc took 7 hours on the day...

(slightly blurry, but you get the idea)

We had tea lights in jars, fairy lights and bunting on the ceiling. Table diamonds, candles in bottles and jars, doilies and confetti and petals on the tables, bows on the chairs, a ballon arch, other ballons and all sorts of lovely things. I am so proud of everyone who helped: Luke, Rosie, Sam, Molly, Elisha, Alfie, Grandad, Jamie and our Aunties and Uncles who chipped in to make it perfect!

So apart from that the food and drink festival and Yorkshire Best has been in town and me and Sam decided to go and explore, so here are some snippets:

Top Left: One of the free Roses from Yorkshire Best and our Prosecco at the Champagne Bar at the food and drink festival.
Top Right: Me and Sam  enjoying ourselves
Bottom: Raspberry Mulled Wine, that I washed down my hog roast with.

And then it was my birthday! I have reached the grand old age of 23, and besides being at work all day I had a lovely day, topped off by going home to see my lovely mum, dad and boyfriend for a takeaway, and then up at 6 the next day to make it back to work for 9! Here are a couple of the lovely things I got:

My beautifully thoughtful photo collage canvas from Sam.

Gorgeous flowers designed by Rosie  one of the many presents from her, including Yankee Candles and accessories, chocolate, Mac make-up, Body Shop make-up, and the lovely ratty rings below:

The absolute icing on the cake is the beautiful DKNY Rose Gold watch from Mum and Dad, I love this so so much that I never want to take it off! I have been after a rose gold watch for aaaages! I am thrilled.

My lovely boyfriend bought me a transformer Wall.E, with a photo of me and him in Wall.E's belly, and when I received him, he was holding a Freddo. To some of you this may sound random, but I love random, and Wall.E, so I am happy :)

Finally I thought I would share a photo of the buns I made for work, I baked them and made the buttercream, then Rosie  piped and helped me decorate, because it was 10pm by this point!

So yeah, I hope you enjoyed my little life update post, I do want to start doing Instagram posts as life update posts, so you can see what I have been up to.

On another note, I finally have a video camera, so hopefully Youtube will be going ahead soon. If you have any suggestions please let me know :)

I am about to go to the Designer Outlet, so I will leave this post here.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, until next time :)

June GlossyBox

Good Evening.

I know I was supposed to post last night, but I had an impromptu sleepover with Sam, due to her needing to view some flats today, I am pleased to say she has got one and will be moving here soon! I can't wait!

So yesterday my GlossyBox arrived, which is always exciting...

So once again the box came beautifully presented in pink and black. So now to what I got...

It was pretty hard to miss this box! This cleanser, toner and moisturiser set from Dermalogica will be ideal for my holiday, miniatures are awesome! I am pleased to see the moisturiser is SPF 15, it's always important to protect your skin. At £12 for a full size kit, I would say this is really good value, unless this is the full size kit, then I would say it was a bit steep. So yeah, when I get back from Menorca I will give you the low down on this!

Speaking of miniatures, this DermaBlend kit from Vichy will be great for my holiday as my tan develops. I don't plan on wearing foundation in the day, just mixing some tinted moisturiser into my SPF 30 facial moisturiser, or the SPF 15 from this GlossyBox. But yeah, this is great, such a nifty gift in the GlossyBox. A full size Ultra-Correction Foundation Cream Stick is £19, so it's great to have so many shades to try.

I am also pleased to see more BM Beauty in the GlossyBox, I really liked the eye pigment I received the other month. However, this bronzer is in a pretty small container, I think I need to press it into a bigger pot so I can use it without throwing it all over the place. The full size of this product is £8, which is pretty reasonable, the full size is 4 times the size of this pot. I will let you know how I get on.

I always like to try a new mascara, though the name of this sort of put me off. 'Sexy Pulp' is by Yves Rocher. I am excited to try it though, I still don't think I have found 'the one' as far as mascaras are concerned, so I am always on the lookout. The full size of this product is £16, which is quite a lot of pennies, but I would pay it for something I thought was perfect for me.

And finally, we got this GlossyBox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush, which is some pretty neat advertising on GlossyBox's part. What slightly disappoints me is that this brush is goat hair, as opposed to synthetic, compared to my elf and body shop brushes, this one is pretty rough. It will get some use no doubt, but I can't see it being a favourite. I am interested to know other people's opinions on the goat hair brush, as general opinion seems to favour synthetic brushes.

All in all I am pretty pleased with my GlossyBox, I like the theme of summer miniatures that GlossyBox went with this month, given me a few bits to try on holiday!

In other exciting news, the Olympic Torch relay made it's way through York yesterday, so obviously we went to watch it go by.

The lovely gentleman carrying the torch is Stan Wild, gym coach for York Gymnastics Club and former gymnast. It was great to see it go by, I felt very patriotic and proud to be British.

So yeah, that's it for today, I am majorly tired from a couple of long days walking, and I went to try a gym tonight and did some swimming. Tomorrow I am going to visit my friend in Huddersfield to do some 'cheap ass' shopping, basically; Ikea, B&M Bargains and Primark, lovely :)

See you soon!

(OOTD) Ok, I am banned from town....starting from...NOW!

Good Evening!

I am serious now, this is it, no more shopping, nada, nope, no-sir-ee! I did order something on line yesterday... but that is it! If I didn't need my cards to buy food etc I would cut them up!

So since my major splurge on Monday, there were minor splurges on Tuesday...and Wednesday! Luckily I was at work today and am tomorrow and Saturday so no fear of spendage whilst there!

Anyway, I should let you know the damage, once again, in my defence, it's all bargain-tastic!

So on Tuesday I happened to pop into Tesco, I didn't even have to go upstairs to the clothing section, they had very helpfully put the sale section right through the front door!

These little beauties were all £7 each! The jumper on the left is uber soft and cuddly, I can't wait to wear it. I even think it will look cute in summer with denim shorts. I have a thing for coral so I couldn't resist the other jumper either, and I thought the cardigan is smart and practical.

I also ended up in the make-up section. I have been needing another make-up pencil sharpener for a while and just picked this up while I remembered. The other purchase was a slight impulse. I Since getting into Youtube I have come to appreciate how much 'doing your eyebrows' can make a difference to your face. So I thought I would try out this kit. It was £5 and comes with a brush and a setting gel, so I thought it was quite reasonable. I haven't had chance to play with this yet, but I hope to review it soon.

On a more practical note, I bought socks!

I also spied these candles from Air Wick. I had not seen Air Wick candles before, but I was pretty sure they would have a good scent. I also liked the packaging. They smell beautiful and at 2 for £5.00 I had to get both, and treat my sister to some as well! The Vintage English Tea Rose one doesn't smell anything like rose in my opinion, but it does smell lovely, part of me wants to say it smells like mens shower gel. If you get the chance to smell these do, and let me know your thoughts. The Summer Fruit Punch one smells divine, like mangoes and tropical juice, it's lovely. I love candles, but could never see myself spending lots and lots on them. Believe me, I would love to try a Neom candle, but I can't justify £37, or whatever it is, so Air Wick will have to do!

Anyway, that's my little lot from Tesco. On Wednesday I 'popped' into town to find some slippers. I made the mistake of going 'the other way' into town than my usual route, to go to New Look to look for said slippers. Alas, no slippers, but they did have these!

So I have been after a black cardigan for a while, and with it being 20% off for students at the moment I decided to invest, so this was £10 instead of £13. It's a lovely fabric and nice and light so will be great all year round. I just had to have this lightweight parka that was in the sale for £16. This jacket feels lovely, but looks like a 'proper' coat. I think it will be fab on summer evenings. And I just couldn't resist this cute flower headband for £3, I mean, who could?

Then I wandered into PoundLand, not PoundWorld this time. I don't get to PoundLand as often, as it is further away. So amongst some practical bits and pieces (including a bright pink lunch box!), I snapped up...

These cute tealight holders are in the summer collection, and I thought they were so pretty for £1 each, you could even use them as make-up brush holders or something. And as you may know already, I am a huge fan of lavender, so this lavender and rose candle had to come home with me.

So after looking in several shops for slippers I ended up in Shoe Zone and funnily enough, I found some slippers, in fact, I found two pairs!

Well with the weather being so erratic I didn't know which style of slipper to buy, so naturally, I bought both. But I didn't know you get student discount in Shoe Zone, and in Stead and Simpson I think, so I got both pairs for just over £10, which I think is a bargain :)

And then, I just popped into H&M to get a long vest to go under the new sheer dress from TopShop, and I got that... BUT they also had the shorts I had lusted over on Monday in my size, so you guessed it, they had to come home too!

Vest- £3.99
Uber Amazing Sparkly Shorts- £25.99 (You have no idea how excited these make me!)

And, to top it all off, a few great things have happened in the last couple of days. I won two prizes! One on a charity raffle with York Does Vintage, and I won Sarah Jane's blog giveaway which is so exciting, I can't wait for that parcel to come through the post! Speaking of post, look what turned up today...

The Flatforms that I have been waiting so long for have finally arrived. They are slightly big on the heel so I am going to get some heel grips, because I think the size down would crush my toesies. I need to spray these and then wait for some drier weather to give them a spin, but I can't wait!

So that is everything. Apart from my prize I am expecting one more thing through the post then no more for a while. I am serious this time, no more!

Anyway, to finish things off, here's an OOTD, (been at work today, hence the layers):

Jacket- Zara, £29.99
Long-Sleeved High Neck Top- Primark, £3
Striped T-Shirt- H&M, £3.99
Kristen Jeans- TopShop sale, £20
Peace Rosary- TopShop sale, £3.50

So until tomorrow :)
