A Chinese Supermarket Miracle

Good Evening!

So it's been a couple of days since my last post, I swear I am trying my hardest to get back into it, but I am not feeling too well today so sorry if I don't make sense!

So today I want to tell you about a little gem of a product I have been testing for a while. It doesn't cost the world, and it isn't even from a likely source, yet I have ultimate faith in it. What is this little gem and where is it from you ask? Well it's coconut oil from the chinese supermarket...

This little baby is £1.35, as opposed to the beauty world's alternatives which normally cost at least 10 times more! This is pure oil, no additives, no nothing, pure cooking oil and a pure treat for the hair!

I have to thank my friend for this one. She is part Thai and her mum used this on her as a baby, she still uses it now and also uses it on her son's scalp and his skin. I love it.

It makes my hair feel amazing! I rub it all over my scalp and hair, pop it all on top of my head, whack a cheapy shower cap on and leave it for as many hours as possible. When it's washed (I recommend a double shampoo as it's a bit of a bugger to get out), you can glide a fine tooth comb through it, before even using a conditioner, if you don't have dry hair, you probably wouldn't need a conditioner at all.

So I use this once a week (normally a Saturday), a bottle will last a month or so. Mid-week I boost the coconut effect with another bargain...

This leave-in conditioner from Boots is less than £2 and it's great. It's just the boost I need to keep my hair silky soft all week. It smells like play-dough, but I quite like it in a weird way.

So this combination of coconut keeps my hair shiny, soft and healthier than it's ever been. So not only do coconuts taste great, but they are fab for the skin and hair too!

Go on, give it a go and let me know what you think. Once you go coconut, I am pretty sure you'll go nuts for it (haha, pun-tastic!)

Anyway, time to get back to watching The Great British Bake Off, anyone else in love with this show!?!

Cya soon!

Reading...

Good Afternoon,

So this weekend seems to be a weekend for family visiting and productivity, so this is probably going to be a short post (also because Mr. Asda may arrive with my shopping soon!). But as much as I love the usual chaos involved with family visiting, I love nothing more than curling up with a good book.

So I wanted to ask you about what you like to read, and what you can recommend.

I have just become fully up-to-date with both the Vampire Diaries series and the Sookie Stackhouse novels (now True Blood on HBO), both of which I have thoroughly enjoyed. Some would argue the 'vampire' phase is over, and it's no longer 'cool', personally, if I like a book I will read it, whether it's in fashion or not.

However, speaking of books that are in fashion, I LOVED the Fifty Shades Trilogy. Now, if you're under 16, or don't like rudey things, do not read this. Seriously, you will be upset. I thought it was great, granted, it's poorly written, but damn does it suck you in! I have a couple of other books of the same genre to get through, and I will do some reviews if people are interested.

I do have the Hunger Games to read as well (the advantages of Rosie and her library moving in!) but I am just interested in what you like to read. I like a bit of anything really, Dan Brown, David Pelzer, L.J Smith, J.K Rowling, biographies, fact, fiction, anything really.

Also, like I said, if you do want any reviews, let me know.

Anyway, I am going to get back to watching Finding Nemo, we have a couple of hours of quiet before the next lot of family (mum) arrives!

Enjoy your weekend!

I am back... I hope!

Good afternoon!

Phew, well I think I might actually be back in the blogging world now, things are finally settling down into a routine, so we'll see how all this goes.

I haven't got myself organised enough to start Youtube yet, so for now I will be blogging and will see how this fits into my new schedule. Hopefully Youtube will be coming soon!

So this post is just going to be a bit of an update really, to let you know what has been going on. I will throw in some pictures to make it more entertaining :)

Firstly, if you have seen my Facebook page, you will know that I have graduated...

I really enjoyed the ceremony, but I am also relieved to be out of education, I am proud to say I graduated with a First Class Honours in Business Management. So that's my long stint in education finally over, so what did we do to celebrate??...

We went on holiday! This is me and the lovely Sam on our first night in Menorca. I do plan to do an Outfit of the Evening post soon, once I have sorted out the photos. We had a great time chilling by the pool and reading 50 Shades of Grey and The Sookie Stackhouse Novels(let me know what you think of these!). It was a wonderful break after finishing education, and a nice quiet before the storm.

Because, the day after we got back I moved flat to move in with Rosie. So that really was chaos, we haven't moved far but it took the family a whole day to move my things, and then another week or so to sort everything out. But we're all settled in now, which leads me to another piece of news...

I now have a job! I am no longer self employed, instead I work in a department store on womenswear and I am loving it! The standing up isn't really agreeing with my hips, but I am sure I will get there. I am working on a temp basis at the moment, but am hoping to get something full time. I am with a great company and would hate to miss the opportunity to stay with them!

I am not sure that I have any more news right now, but with all the excitement of moving, and new jobs and other bits and pieces, the blog really had to take a back seat, but now I am back and ready to get into the swing of it again, so let me know if you have any suggestions of things you would like to see.

Anyway, there's housework to be done, and tax forms to fill in (yawn!) so I best get going!

I hope to see you all soon!!

It's all Chaos!

Good morning,

So I thought that as soon as I had finished my degree I would have loads of time for blogging, well, how wrong was I?!?!

What with shopping trips, family visits, flat viewings, and the snap decision to move to a new flat, AND sorting my room out to thin out some clutter (my new bedroom is smaller!), I have hardly had time to stop and rest, never mind blog.

I will try and get some posts up this week. The YouTube is going ahead, I am going to film my first videos abroad in Menorca, which will be fun and exciting, I hope you will all be watching :)

So yeah, sorry for the silence, rest assured I haven't forgotten about the blog, I am just having a bit of a whirlwind of a life at the moment.

Speak soon!

June GlossyBox

Good Evening.

I know I was supposed to post last night, but I had an impromptu sleepover with Sam, due to her needing to view some flats today, I am pleased to say she has got one and will be moving here soon! I can't wait!

So yesterday my GlossyBox arrived, which is always exciting...

So once again the box came beautifully presented in pink and black. So now to what I got...

It was pretty hard to miss this box! This cleanser, toner and moisturiser set from Dermalogica will be ideal for my holiday, miniatures are awesome! I am pleased to see the moisturiser is SPF 15, it's always important to protect your skin. At £12 for a full size kit, I would say this is really good value, unless this is the full size kit, then I would say it was a bit steep. So yeah, when I get back from Menorca I will give you the low down on this!

Speaking of miniatures, this DermaBlend kit from Vichy will be great for my holiday as my tan develops. I don't plan on wearing foundation in the day, just mixing some tinted moisturiser into my SPF 30 facial moisturiser, or the SPF 15 from this GlossyBox. But yeah, this is great, such a nifty gift in the GlossyBox. A full size Ultra-Correction Foundation Cream Stick is £19, so it's great to have so many shades to try.

I am also pleased to see more BM Beauty in the GlossyBox, I really liked the eye pigment I received the other month. However, this bronzer is in a pretty small container, I think I need to press it into a bigger pot so I can use it without throwing it all over the place. The full size of this product is £8, which is pretty reasonable, the full size is 4 times the size of this pot. I will let you know how I get on.

I always like to try a new mascara, though the name of this sort of put me off. 'Sexy Pulp' is by Yves Rocher. I am excited to try it though, I still don't think I have found 'the one' as far as mascaras are concerned, so I am always on the lookout. The full size of this product is £16, which is quite a lot of pennies, but I would pay it for something I thought was perfect for me.

And finally, we got this GlossyBox Serie Exclusiv Pro Beauty Brush, which is some pretty neat advertising on GlossyBox's part. What slightly disappoints me is that this brush is goat hair, as opposed to synthetic, compared to my elf and body shop brushes, this one is pretty rough. It will get some use no doubt, but I can't see it being a favourite. I am interested to know other people's opinions on the goat hair brush, as general opinion seems to favour synthetic brushes.

All in all I am pretty pleased with my GlossyBox, I like the theme of summer miniatures that GlossyBox went with this month, given me a few bits to try on holiday!

In other exciting news, the Olympic Torch relay made it's way through York yesterday, so obviously we went to watch it go by.

The lovely gentleman carrying the torch is Stan Wild, gym coach for York Gymnastics Club and former gymnast. It was great to see it go by, I felt very patriotic and proud to be British.

So yeah, that's it for today, I am majorly tired from a couple of long days walking, and I went to try a gym tonight and did some swimming. Tomorrow I am going to visit my friend in Huddersfield to do some 'cheap ass' shopping, basically; Ikea, B&M Bargains and Primark, lovely :)

See you soon!
