A little knitting project...

Baby Moccasins!

Hello!

I know this post is a couple of days late, sorry! I am still finding my feet again and my inspiration. So please be patient with me!

In the mean time I have been working on a knitting project. I know a couple of lovely ladies that are expecting babies in the near (and not-so-near) future, so have started working on some gifts. This is my first knitting project of the year, and I am pretty pleased. I used two different knitting patterns to create these little moccasin boots, both of which can be found on my Pinterest.

A crafty project, and another award!

Good Evening!

And it is pretty good for me! I got one of my assignments finished to day and my beautiful best friend Sam has bought me a months subscription to She Said Beauty, a beauty box company. I have not heard of this company before but I am excited to see what comes in the box. This one is £9 a month, £1 cheaper than most others, and is still £2.95 postage, so yes, I am intrigued.

So I have a little crafty project to share with you, I mentioned it a while back but I couldn't share it until I had given it to the person it was for, and now I have I can show you :)

One of my colleagues has just got married, and I was unsure what to get him, but as we work in a knitwear business I though this would be quite apt. 

This took me a couple of weeks working in bits and bats on it. I am really proud of it. The fact you can see all the stitching is on purpose, for some reason I really wanted it to hit home that it was home made.

And I am also proud to say that Beauty and the Mist nominated me for another award. This one is the One Lovely Blog Award and I am flattered. I would just like to say thank you so much. It means a lot, and I really appreciate being nominated, it's so great to know people like what you're doing. Personally, I think that these awards are an inspiration to keep going, so thanks again!

1. I love peppermint tea!

2. If I don't post an OOTD, it's likely I am in my trackies, I don't dress nice if I am not leaving the house.

3.(Relates to point 2) If I don't think I am leaving the house, then have to, I will go out in my trackies, with no make up on, I don't really care :)

4. I am obsessed with fish and chips!

5. I treat my pet rats like my children!

6. I have to have something over my ears to be able to sleep.

No New News... But Here's some Booties :)

Today has been very relaxing :) Chilling with the BF on our 5 year anniversary. Think junk food, movies and blankets and you sort of get the idea!

But I thought I would share one of my favourite projects with you, (I know I should have done it sooner), the baby Ugg Boots I knitted for a couple of peoples little ones. I decided to be brave and finally follow a pattern, anyway, here are the results:

I am really pleased with how they turned out, the pattern can be found here. I also found a teen conversion (which I used to create an Ugg Boot Xmas stocking for my sister!). That can be found here. So happy knitting! Can't wait until February when I can get some more knitting done. I will try and get some photos of the Xmas gifts I made this year so I can share the patterns and results with you!

Now back to Ace Ventura on Channel 5, and to finish my assignment. Need to start my literature review tomorrow, oh joy!

BUT tomorrow will also be the start of 'Outfit of the Day' (by popular demand of my sister! Check her out at Rosie Apple)

Boyfriend's mum's birthday present?? All wrapped up I'd say...

'2 posts in one day is unheard of!' I hear you say, but there may even be another one yet! So here is a scarf I made for my boyfriend's mum's birthday. Very very simple to make. I just saw a nice coloured ball of wool in Boyes and decided that a scarf would be a nice present. So I just knitted the whole ball and the above picture is the result. It appears casting 50 stitches on and using 6mm needles was ideal as the wool came out in perfect stipes! I think she will love it, or I hope she does.

For a finishing touch I even added a gift tag, made from bits out of a pack of various bits and peices of crafty things which I got from Poundland of all places, in fact they are such good packs, that I now have 4. I'm sure they will come in useful for my course!

So there you have it, just thought I would share that with you instead of cleaning my room and making chicken tikka for my tea... ah best get to it really!

Ok, so I fail

Ok, so like the title says, I fail.

I should have been posting sooo much more than I have been, and I have made it my new years resolution to do so...

So Christmas and New Year were fun, got lots of nice presents and spent all of the time with my lovely and lively family =]

Since then I have been to Amsterdam on a dutch dash, met up with my friend Frank who I had never met in real life before, so that was muchly fun, (the photos are on facebook). I have also done a lot of catching up with friends and family in the time I have been at home =]

And I have been on with a couple of little projects, firstly, the Pandas are coming...

I was inspired by the hat in River Island, but refused to pay £13 for it, so I made my own. Took me 2 days, and £5, but I definitely think it was worth it. A woman actually left the queue in the bank to take a photo of the back of my head while I was wearing it, if I could have thought of something to say I would have, but I was in shock at the time.

Then I worked on Justin (the boyfriend)'s 3 year anniversary of being together, present...

I got the cross stitch pattern off the website http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/ (fantastic website for people who like to make things), then I decided to make a Rubicks Cube for it to go on, (he can solve one in under a minute =]) This took 2 weeks to make and he does love it muchly =]

I am now on with making a scarf, I am really enjoying knitting and making things, but I am going back to Leeds on Sunday and back to college so I will have less time for things, but I PROMISE that this term I will be blogging on a regular basis! I will probably keep blogging on things I have been making or doing =]
